Body Choice

I'm not making this a poll because well, I guess I'm not a very democratic person. But I DO want your opinions and ideas here.

Here are some sprites I did NOT make, these are all made by the VRP Team. I'm studying their style, and hope to incorporate it in my work to give DBU an authentic, LSW style.

I'm not going to pay much attention to "I like the Yamucha body." Because that doesn't tell me anything.

I want to hear the whys.

Personally, I like the Piccolo body and the regular human head. The Nappa head is shaped oddly, and even fixing the ears, brow, and antenna on the Piccolo head, it is still way taller. The Piccolo body however, is a little leaner than say the Tien body, which would have been my second choice. Piccolo has longer limbs, and slightly smaller hands. I think the lean body, longer limbs, and smaller hands give it a more detailed look (which is a little better with the smaller human head I think) and better animation.

But I'm open to ideas. Which is why I made this.

The Piccolo body really has a LSW feel to it. I like it but Yamcha's body is good too, it would be easier to see if they were naked though. I certainly wouldnt use the Nappa, Raditz and Krillin body. They are either too big or to small.
And Id go with Yamcha's or Goku's head.

Don't use Goku's body though, his arm looks messed up(far side) at the shoulder. And I'd hate to see a real alien with the same shape as Nappa's head, being flat on the back... but I like pretty much anything I can speciically see on the Green Man.

I like the Piccolo, only things I dont like is that he barely has shoulders, and, just like the other sprites, it looks like he's leaning back a bit. The head of Nappa looks crazy, only good thing about his body is that it looks like he is standing straight, and not leaning back a bit. His body has way too less detail though, and it will be hard to add detail to it. The head of regular humans like Tien looks good. And Tien's body looks good too: He doesnt lean back, he has shoulders, and everything isnt so close together as the Nappa sprite.

About the sizes and colors of the body's and heads, we could will add that the player can choose from multiple styles of body's and heads: not only different colors, but also sizes. But the sizes should be the same style though.

For me the best is Yamcha and Tien i think you should mix this to person.

I think Goku's head would be pretty good. As for the body, I believe we could use Goku's too but you would have to fix the hand...it looks like he is flipping someone off secretly

Here is the new test, I'm going for a full black outline this time because it allows for more detail in shading. and gives a harder more muscular look.

It is modified Yamucha body with a third eye-less Tenshinhan head.

I really like this.


The idea is even for a base, when you start out, you're wearing clothes. And having tight fitted clothing on makes it easy to edit. This will be a lot easier to do.

I really like him with the clothes on, he looks good and its always better when clothes are easy to make. I also think he looks quite good naked too btw.

Well Baseclothes would be easier for me, I think, but I CAN do basenaked.

Elk I suggest you should finish the base sprite and choose for yourself if you make him fully naked or not
